How does a photo like this get one of these.

OR
We will use IPhone, for example this photo is taken with iPhone11 with one light source. And the first photo is also taken with an iPhone and also with one light source.
1. You need light, which can be natural light or artificial light. Natural light is more difficult to work with, at least because of the changing weather conditions.
2. Artificial light should be powerful enough, it will help to convey volume, and it will not distort the colors and especially add a dirty yellow-green tint.
What kind of artificial light is suitable?
For a long time everyone used ring lamps, but their time has passed and they can be used for work if it is dark or used as an additional light source in more complex lighting schemes.
Therefore, we do not consider the option with ring lamp.
Now more and more makeup artists use video light. It is better to start with something compact, so that it was convenient to take with you, but at the same time powerful enough.
I recommend Godox LED 308C. This is not an advertisement, just if you are just starting out there is no point in spending a lot of money on equipment. This is quite enough.

You should also get a small light reflector.

How to use the light ?
1. Turn off all other lights. No extraneous light sources, artificial or natural, should interfere with you, let alone blend in.
2. You or your model should stand about 1 meter away from the wall or the background
3. Your video light should stand the same way about 27,5inch-39inch from the model.
4. The video light should be slightly above the model at an angle of 45 and fall clearly on the face.
5. The model holds the reflector in his\her hands, but try to keep it out of the frame.
How do I take pictures on iphone?
1. We always take photos on the phone's main camera, not the one you take selfies with.
2. Make sure to wipe the camera down, it should be clean
3. Remember that the phone camera is wide-angle and your model will seem wider than it is. So don't get close to the model with your phone. Use the zoom if you need a close-up. Otherwise, you will see a very wide nose and lower jaw.
4. Turn on the grid on your phone. This is a simplified “golden ratio” or the rule of thirds. Since you are doing makeup and most of the time the focus is on your eyes or lips, it is desirable that these parts fall on lines or intersection points. If we are talking about the eyes, you can have them a little higher and in the upper third. If you are photographing both hair and makeup, then naturally the eyes will be lower, and in the upper part of the hair. *If you want to know why this is so, read about the rule of thirds in photography and composition in the frame.
5. Start taking photos. If there is too much light and you see white spots in the photo, you can press your finger on the phone screen and reduce the exposure a little when you take the photo. Photo retouching.
You've taken a photo, but remember that your phone's camera is not like the human eye and may show or highlight things you don't see or don't want to highlight (like enlarged pores).
