1. Hi everyone, below in this article we'll break down what brushes are. This information will be enough for you to put together a basic set for a beginner makeup artist. And also to avoid unnecessary spending if you collect a set for yourself.1. Flat synthetic brush for applying masks.

2. Flat, rounded brush. (The composition can be different - synthetic, natural mink or sable) - a universal brush for applying foundation on all skin types, convenient for sculpting (contouring), mask application.

3. Kabuki brush for foundation application - very convenient for working with normal skin, with skin with enlarged pores. It is very necessary when you need to apply a thin and light layer of foundation. It will be very good if there is natural hair in the composition.

4. Oval brush. Depending on the size of the brush of this shape you can do the whole makeup, but personally I liked it when working with normal skin (puts evenly and thinly), when performing cream correction (softly). With such brushes it is very difficult to overdo the product.

5. Duo-fiber brush (contains synthetic with different density and thickness). Some people apply the tone, I find it convenient for creamy textures spreading.

6. Round brush. Very thin, evenly applies foundation, especially around the eyes and on the wings of the nose. Will not let you overdo it with the product. It is also good for localized application of dry powder.

7. Flat rectangular brush. Good for creamy correction. Especially the nose.

8. A fluffy or oval-cut blush brush should be smaller than a powder brush, so it's easier to work with. You can use a cut brush for a sharper line.

9. Powder brush large round, medium round, for professional work, as a rule, you need both. A very fluffy fan brush is also suitable for powder.

10. Take synthetic flat brushes of different application sizes for correcting concealer around the eyes or spot blemishes, as well as for intricate graphics.

11. For shadows: flat natural (different sizes), round brush (barrel), pencil brush, fluffy round brush for blending, pulling brush (for working in pencil or gel technique).

12. For shadows. Extra Small Smoky Liner Makeup Brushes. Perfect for small details.

13. A shadow applicator. Preferably with latex, not just foam. Be sure to have a long handle.

14. Eyeliner brushes.

15. Eyebrow brush.

16. Eyelash brush.

17. Round sponge. Works well with foundation, concealer, blush. It can be used wet or dry, the wet method is easier to apply product or delicate blending.

18. Classic sponges. For me, the most comfortable shape is a triangle. Good to work with problem skin, also good to blend products on the face, convenient to remove excess product, blotting. It is possible to work dry and wet.

19. Round and square sponges with latex or silicone. Convenient when working with 2-in-1 compact powders.

20. Puffs. To work with compact powders for direct application.

21. 22. Eyelash comb/brush.

23. Tweezers for false eyelashes.

24. Straight scissors with blunt end.

25. Eye makeup patches.

26. Eyelash curler.

27. Hairdresser's clips (plastic is better).

28. Palette. Essential for mixing products, applying foundation, liquid and cream lipsticks.

29. Sharpener.

I've listed the basic brushes and tools that should be in a beginner makeup artist's bag. Yes, there may be more forms of brushes, but from personal experience I can say that some brushes from this list I do not use anymore. I use brushes of the same shape, but for different purposes. Also, don't forget that even if you are a beginner, it is better to have two sets to start with. There will be more clients, then you will buy everything you need.
